Over 35+ years, however, exposure to water, coolant, and other chemicals have typically caused these to rust & disintegrate – leaving its remains to be circulated inside of your car’s cooling system. This can often be the cause of cooling system leaks as well – as the pipe becomes swiss-cheesed enough to let coolant escape.
