    Description

Lot of 7 Vintage 1970's and 1980's Women's American ORT Pins, costume jewelry that I earned while a member of this wonderful organization.  Founded in 1880 when my grandparents lived there, the Organization for Rehabilitation Through Training stands for the original name in Russian, and was founded to promote vocational training in trades and agriculture for impoverished Jews.  In the 70's, in America, there were nearly 90,000 Jewish women members in 700 chapters across the country.  I was a member and editor of the newsletter before I had to go to work and didn't have as much time for volunteer work, but I enjoyed my time there, helping to raise money for training and education in Israel and America.
The seven pins have locking bar backs, and have never been off the velvet.  Excellent used condition, no chips to enamel, etc.
