Antique Japanese Lacquer Teacaddy with Two inserts

Description

Antique Japanese Lacquer Tea Caddy with Two inserts: this tea caddy was used in tea ceremonies by a local Japanese lady. The box opens to display two compartments that have slide-out lids also in lacquer.
The compartments are made of wood with lacquer on the outside. The lid has a traditional Japanese decoration of Mount Fuji with houses in front.
The front and sides of the box also have gold decorations. The box is in overall good condition with as flaw a nearly invisible separation in the lid and a piece of missing lacquer on one side as shown.
The box has a lock but no key.
Measurements are: 8 ¼” by 5 ¾” and 5 ½” tall.
