"Asor" derive the word "Eser" - "Ten" in Hebrew. A psaltery of 10 strings.

This is a re-production of the exact Psaltery of 10 strings which is mentioned in various occasions Torah, and Tehilim book.
The number 10 is extremely symbolic in Jewish history -
GOD hit 10 Egypt with 10 punishments when pharaoh continuously refused Moses to let Israel go.
Later, Moses received from GOD The 10 Commandments on Mount Moriah, known today as the Temple Mount.
Also associated with 10 Sephiroth of Kabbalah.
It is mentioned as one of the instruments to play in front of as a pure joy & happiness in several places inside the Tehilim book.
It is the same kind of mentioned Lyre which David played in front of King Shaul (Saul) to bring relief on his soul.

In general, a harp is mentioned in several occasions in Torah related Jehoshaphat King of Judah  (וַיָּבֹאוּ יְרוּשָׁלַ‍ִם בִּנְבָלִים וּבְכִנֹּרוֹת) and Isaiah prophecy.
The harp with 10 strings is mentioned as David's musical instrument in Tehilim book .

The Psaltery of 10 strings is also known as "King David's Lyre".
David was also a musician. He used to play the Psaltery in front of King Saul and in order to relieve Saul's mood with some magical relaxing tunes.

Sound box is made of leather. The body of the instrument is produced from a Walnut wood.
Each Nevel is completely hand-made of the finest materials possible with specific wood, leather and strings.
Each Nevel has its own unique sound, and actually there are no two instruments which are exactly the same.
All the instruments are made in Israel produced by Shmuel Gafnan who in the last 20 years developed his own style and methods of constructing these fine pieces.

More About the Artist
Based in Jerusalem, Shmuel Gafnan was born in Israel in 1960.
Since early childhood he is attracted by various types of arts and expressions of spirit and matter.
“Since I was 4 years old I have been attracted to sculpturing, and being a son of a jeweler and astronomer provided me with perfect technical fundaments for the art of sculpturing”
His style of art is inspired by Kabbalah motives with constant ambition to connect the launch points between the ancient Jewish tradition, various forms of art and creation in future and past.
Being a versatile artist through his entire life, it seems like a journey around various cultures and continents.
